Mr. Silk has practiced in various areas of commercial and professional insurance for more than twenty years. Primary areas of his insurance practice include financial institutions, fidelity bonds and commercial crime, employment practices liability, directors and officers’ liability, and professional liability.
Mr. Silk’s practice has included the investigation of numerous complex bond claims involving financial institutions and commercial entities. He has also represented insurers’ interests in connection with corporate mismanagement claims, as well as a wide variety of employment-related disputes, including claims of discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.
In addition to conducting claim investigations and negotiating claim settlements, Mr. Silk has drafted policy wordings and endorsements for insurers, provided coverage opinions, and handled coverage litigation.
A member of the American Bar Association’s Torts and Insurance Practice Section, Mr. Silk is also a member of the Section’s Fidelity and Surety Committee, Employer-Employee Relations Committee, and Professional’s, Officers’ and Directors’ Liability Committee. Mr. Silk has spoken at the Fidelity and Surety Committee’s annual meeting, and is also a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.
